Convert Artwork into Fauxlographic Diffraction Layers

Rasterizer assigns each processed pixel to the nearest measured fauxlographic swatch color, coalesces adjacent pixels, and exports the result using that swatch's embedded LightBurn setting, scan interval, and angle.

Choose a saved or uploaded palette

Signed-in members can choose a Fauxlographic Palette saved in Swatch Palette Vault. Guests can choose Upload Fauxlographic Swatch Palette and provide the self-contained JSON downloaded from Fauxlographic Etching Lab; guest jobs do not save that palette or add it to Job History, so keep the source file.

After choosing ordinary artwork and the Fauxlographic Palette, Image Preset and Abstract Filter controls are replaced by Fauxlographic Artwork controls. Registering is useful for repeated work because saved palettes can be selected directly without tracking and uploading the JSON file each time.

Layer generation

Each enabled fauxlographic swatch receives its own LightBurn layer and angle. Adjacent pixels assigned to the same swatch are merged into non-overlapping closed rectangles to reduce object count.

Black outlines and cut mode

Preserve Black Outlines uses the palette's embedded Black setting when available. Cut mode can use each setting as stored or be overridden with Line, Fill, or Offset Fill.

Job processing

Artwork exports run on a serverless Fargate worker. Signed-in jobs appear in account-backed Job History with pending and processing states, requested logs, and retained downloads. Guest jobs remain attached only to the active Rasterizer page and use temporary completion downloads.
