Fauxlographic Swatch Palettes

A Fauxlographic Palette records measured color observations and the calibration parameters associated with selected grid cells.

Fauxlographic swatches and embedded settings

Each fauxlographic swatch records an observed color, calibration geometry such as interval and angle, and the laser setting copied from the calibration source. Fauxlographic Palettes are therefore self-contained for Rasterizer artwork processing and do not require the original Material Library.

Optional black setting

When the calibration Material Library contains a Black setting, the palette can retain it for Preserve Black Outlines. This lets the artwork worker apply the known black setting without reopening the source library.

Download or save the palette

Guests can download the self-contained Fauxlographic Swatch Palette file after measurement, but it is not retained in Swatch Palette Vault or guest history. Keep the file so it can be uploaded for a later guest Fauxlographic Artwork job or imported after signing in.

Signed-in users can save Fauxlographic Palettes in Swatch Palette Vault, review and edit their swatches, and use Download JSON to export the current browser values. Because the JSON export uses the open draft, it includes edits made moments earlier even when Save has not yet been selected. Older stored data may still use legacy internal recipe identifiers, but the user-facing resource is a Fauxlographic Palette.

Reuse limits

Fauxlographic swatches are specific to the conditions under which they were measured. Recalibrate when the laser, lens, focus, substrate, preparation, lighting, or viewing setup changes materially.
